I just bought a 3940p. It’s a special watch and overall reference. The dial is perfectly laid out, and the font is so legible and uncluttered. No squashed numbers as seen on the 3940 successors, which eventually bothered me enough that my old 5140p was sold. You have a very fine Patek, a very nice watch, technically and in terms of style. However, our tests change and/or we discover other watchmaking areas that can make us move from a watch, a brand, a complication, a style to the other. Although a perpetual calendar is a complicated watch, the Patek ref. 3940 is easy to read thanks to its neat and legible dial. At three o’clock, there’s a subdial with the month and leap year indicators. At six o’clock, there are the date and moon phase displays. This 3940P is powered by the in-house Patek Philippe Calibre 240Q movement with micro rotor, and comes equipped with a black Patek Philippe crocodile leather strap with a platinum Patek Philippe buckle.
